The most memorable jingle of all time? According to a recent survey it’s Just One Cornetto, that parody of a world famous 19th century Italian aria O Sole Mio first aired by Walls ice cream in 1983.

It is unlikely Rixton – the Manchester four piece managed by Justin Bieber’s supremo Scooter Braun and fronted by Jake Roche son of EastEnders star Shane Richie – will steal that crown with their forthcoming single We All Want The Same Thing.

But in the run-up to its release on June 7, the infectious pop tune underpinning Cornetto’s teen-friendly summer campaign has been a TV ad trend-setter on Shazam and received over 3.7m views on Walls’ You Tube channel.

So at least its chances of emulating the band’s 2014 chart-topping debut Me And My Broken Heart must be pretty good.

“This was a complex deal which went beyond sync into partnership activity ranging from Rixton appearing in the film to a national competition that will end with a fans-only party," says Big Sync Music Business Development Director David Wille.

“We worked closely with Adam Gardiner from Universal Globe to ensure that the single would be released on the back of the campaign and would also give the Cornetto Lost and Found film a period of exclusivity before the artist video was made available to fans.”

The bulk of the beachfront footage in this Cornetto spot had already been shot in Spain before the search for a suitable soundtrack began, while Rixton’s performance was filmed in March when the band were in Miami touring with Ariana Grande.
